The Niagara University College of Arts and Sciences Department of Biology is seeking outstanding faculty fellow professor candidates in the field of medical microbiology and/or host-pathogen interactions. The faculty fellow professor candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Department of Biology including microbiology with laboratory, as well as a combination of anatomy and physiology with lab, introductory level classes, and/or specialized courses in their area of expertise.

Candidates are expected to participate in curriculum development and assessment, develop and conduct laboratory experiences with undergraduates, coordinate professional development activities, as well as engage in service to both the department and university. We seek applicants with an interest in fostering rigorous, inclusive, and high-impact learning environments. Candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.


  • A Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in Medical Microbiology and/or Biomedical sciences or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in microbiological techniques.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to use technology to support instruction.
  • An understanding and commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.


  • Doctorate in Medical Microbiology and/or Biomedical sciences or related field from a regionally accredited institution or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach core courses in biology (e.g., microbiology, introductory biology, or capstone writing course).
  • In addition to a strong academic background, applicants with experience supporting research training for undergraduates are encouraged to apply.
